No, Becca, I'm not doing it next year as I have other commitments, but maybe one day. The food I found most problematic was the bananas that were cut into pieces but still had their skins on- they were slow slippery and then left your hands covered in banana mush. I carried a Cliff bar in my flipbelt and had a 1/4 every 10k to start with and also a few gels, but otherwise grabbed fruit and potatoes etc along the way.
Becca7- don't forget the salted potatoes and crisps!
Debra- sorry to hear you are still broken! I used the Malta marathon last year as my qualifier. Warm and slightly downhill, with plenty of time before Comrades to recover and switch training to ultra pace.
