Hi Dave, Think the best thing you could do is actually do a recee of the route. If this is not possible then search for the route on MapmyRun and see if this fits in with your level of training. This should give you an idea of whether you are on target or not with where you want to finish. If it's the clockwise route then very roughly it's about 1/3 across fields and trails and is flat, then the next third is the ascents and descents and then the last 1/3 is the home run back across fields and roads. The main thing is to enjoy the race! |

Also, leave the road shoes at home - they'll hinder more than help. Get a pair with some really good tread - Trail or Fell shoes are an absolute must. |

Chris, This is without doubt miles more appealing than a 10K tarmac race anyday. You get a great friendly crowd (none of this snobby elite rubbish), fantastic marshalls, varied but challenging and rewarding terrain. This will be my third year running it and I really look forward to it - it's one of my fave races in the calendar. If you enjoy it, which I'm certain you will there is also another 9 miler at the end of year round the Roaches by Congleton Harriers. Alex. |

| Oh yeah, don't worry about walking back to the car on your own, it was pretty busy last year and there were alot of people walking that direction. |
