Hi guys, Last May, I developed crippling plantar fasciitis when I did a trail half marathon and stupidly wore non supportive shoes. As some of you have experienced, it was a long slow painful {mentally more than anything} process trying to work out what would help. Nothing really did. I spent endless days, on the Internet, over seven months looking for the magic cure. I tried just about everything and, although the pain got better, I still could not run. I gained a stone in weight and was utterly miserable. Anyhow, at Christmas I asked for a pair of 'back on track' ceramic socks. They cost £20.00 on Amazon, so not a cheap pair of socks.
I started wearing them every day. I could certainly feel my feet tingling slighty. They are infra red and so increase the blood flow to the area. Within 3-4 days I noticed that my feet felt better Within a fortnight, I was able to put on my running shoes and go out for a run. So far, I have run in mud, hard trails and snow and my feet are great. I am only up to two miles, but have no ill effects from running at all. I wore them every single day for three weeks and now am trying every few days. I stood talking to someone for too long one day and my heels felt a bit sore. Back in the socks and, next day, absolutely fine. I wanted to share this with you as I have never read of anyone trying these for plantar. So, who knows, it may help one of you to recover quicker |

i am thinking of tackling this as my first half. Has anyone done it and can advise how 'undulating' it is. I am hoping to do a fairly easy half as a first, although my training schedule has been predominantly hill running at 7 - 8 mile distances over 2700 feet of climbing, so any relief from that would be good hope you can help. Thanks Jan |

I am 52, and I started running in January 2009. I have been plagued with injuries as soon as I get faster and fitter. I run mid foot naturally but clearly something hadn't been't been working for me as every few months I was forced to stop running because of one or more of the following issues - drumskin tight, extremely painful calf muscles
- Constant shin issues
- Sore back
- Sore, tight ankles
- Knee pain from IT band
I started seriously applying the Chi running principles a month or so ago, simply by from watching the DVD, reading the book and practicing. In the past I have stuck to 5k runs {I do Cani-Cross} but have been building up as I have been feeling so good. This last month I have done the 7 mile Mud Runner, Oblivion {vertical hills and mud} The Crocodile 8 {very hilly} and yesterday I did the Seven sins {7 miles and 2690 feet of ascent] I am not yet fast, however I had no calf problems at all despite tackling almost vertical hills. I feel so good today I am considering joining in a 5 mile run tonight. I have had no delayed onset muscle soreness whatsoever from the last three events! It's early days for me but, when I get it right, Chi running feels like I am floating effortlessly across the ground. I am so thrilled with the results so far that I am now discussing the possibility of training as a Chi Running instructor. So, I guess it has kind of worked for me |

My bad. Having checked, my original shoes are 2140's and my new ones are 2150's. The problem I had with the 2150 is that they made me run exceptionally flat footed, no matter how hard I tried not to, and my legs got sore very quickly. Since using them I have had reoccuring shin problems, even though I didn't use them a lot as I mostly run off road with my Salamon Speedcross {which are the BEST shoes EVER} My 2140's were great as I run mind sole and they allowed me to do that, but there is no stock of them anywhere Thanks for your replies everyone. |

Hi Has anyone any experience of the Newton trainers? I usually wear Asics, but when I upgraded from 2150's to 2160's they make me run really flat footed and I now have had an extremely bad back for two weeks Would love to hear feedback Jan |
