I agree Robin, the course isn't hilly in comparision to some (the Spen 20 and the Bishop Wilton Half) but the constant undulations are very wearing on your legs. Like you say, it makes it more difficult to run at a steady pace. Still, it was a fantastic run and well worth doing.

Great race yesterday. The weather was amazing and the course very scenic. Sadly the hills over the las four miles, combined with the high number of cattle grids, consipired to stop me getting my first sub four hour run.

Looking forward to this one folks. I've done a couple of marathons before and was hoping to crack 4hours at this one; however, the course reports on here make it sound pretty tricky and I'm starting to think I might struggle. I knocked out 25 miles on an undulating city route in around 3.56 a couple of weeks, So, fngers crossed, I'll be able to do it. It's a shame they only seem to give out water, it would have been nice to be able to pick up some energy drinks on the way round. If it's not too cold I'll have to ladden tohe good lady up with goodies for pick up on the way round! |

I'm looking forward to this weekend. I just hope it's not too windy, as that will only make this tricky course even trickier.

I lived in Dundee for two years and never realised this place existed. Sounds like a great route and well worth a try - if only i wasn't back in Yokrshire!
