Steve6 - winds me up no end. I've lived through many acts of sporting betrayal but none comes close to this. I can't believe how blas?? everyone seems to be about it. He is low life scum who I hope never has a decent run ever again. If his treachery was in a trench he would have been rightly shot. But all the little arse needs to do is run 3 miles round a track not dodge bullets. Even if he comes last it doesn't really matter.
We have collectively paid tens of thousands of pounds so he could live his dossy little life. We have collectively paids tens of millions of pounds to stage the commonwealth games which will benefit him. He needs to support it no matter what.
Even Usain Bolt is coming and it's not even his country and he's 10 times the athlete Farah will ever be. Farah should maybe think how lucky he is to be running when long distance running has a dearth of good runners. We've all politely ignored that - but not now. He can't rely on his patchy running achievements alone - he needs to prove himself as a great ambassador for his sport..... Not a selfish imbecile.
Saying he is two weeks off being as fit as he was in 2012? Not injured not ill. He's "not ready" apparently
I'm open to being hypocritical as I regard running as not a team game, but the fact is that he has been selected for his country and effectively refusing to run.
That's the same country that gave him a home and funded him. The same country that invited the little twit to have a trial run in the London Marathon because he wasn't ready to run the full distance. Difference being ??450k.
So, selfish as well as an idiot that somehow fails to see the blow to the games that his withdrawal will have.
CRAB - excellent perfomance, report and photos too (shame no-one from JLS is on them though).
Well done Dan.
Feeling very excited for Marigold now after reading the latest blog. Think how awesome must it be - tapering at the end of a 6/7 year buildup and now the eyes of the nation (a lot of nations) watching you. Undoubtedly the biggest race of your life as it's unlikely there will be another chance (aged 40+) to race in an event so big. Blimey, think I'd be cacking meself.
