Enjoyed the D33 on Saturday by by God, if I was able to kid myself on about my fitness beforehand I certainly can't do that now!
It was a real slog in the 2nd half and I was a good 30 mins slower than I would have been last Autumn so really going to have to buckle down between now and the HHF if that isn't going to end up with a 20 mile death march at the end.
D33 is a great wee race to kick things off for Spring so will certainly be back next year, hopefully better prepared.
cheers Tricia. It's been sore for 2 weeks but is actually just about better so I've been out and done a slow 3 miles earlier but it's the sort of day for something a bit longer and nicer.
Think it stems back to the CS40 and GO33 just like yourself (and the GRS Half in between). Really loved those 2 ultras but they were just little bit too close. Think I'll be leaving a minimum of 8 to 10 weeks between events from now on.
I also find that the worst part is the complete abandonment of any sort of healthy eating while out of action but I'll get that sorted now I'm running again.
