I used to only cycle, including racing and would say that I used to be above average ability. I then started triathlons and although I never felt tired on the run my muscles and bnes took a beating from running and I struggled with it. I decided to do less cycling and focus on improving my run, now the run is the strongest of my tri disciplines and I am a fair bit slower at cycling, I used to be able to pull away and stay away on long draggy climbs but cant seem to find the accellaration anymore. I didnt do much cycling training whilst trying to get better at running which may be the problem.
The women having cheaper quotes thing was abolished a few years ago as it is a form of discrimination. No idea why he is cheaper as main driver if you have been driving longer with no claims? Perhaps your occupation changes it? Im a shift worker so my insurnce goes up becuase of it.
Iv done Birghton, London and Edinburgh. London was by far my favourite, it was my first, it was emotional and you wont get the same atmosphere at any other UK marathon. Brighton is very good they just need to provide more toilets. Its also not flat but all hills are in the first half and local support is great. Edinburgh dissapointed me, local support was good but the official support was crap they even nearly ran out of water for the slower runners, no sport drink at aid stations no gels till mile 16, hard work actually getting back to edinburgh as only the 1st few miles are actually in Edinburgh, the rest is along the coast in East lothian and although its pretty in places it gets quite boring, if the weather had been typically scottish it would have been grim However it has the best finish area I have been to, I especially liked the beer tent. Iv done the three forts half marathon and am considering going for the full next year, its off road and hilly. Personally I prefer trail races although have only really done half marathon ones.
I ran Brighton 2012 and Edinburgh 2012 in brooks pure cadence I got PBs in both. My only problem is that I should have bought them half a size or a full size bigger as I ended up with blisters under my toenails from my feet swelling and toes hitting the toe box. Still I have only lost 2 nails this year and I lost 6 last year.
shower 1-2 times per day, nail varnish is not allowed at work, I dont usually wear makeup at work as I cycle and cant be arsed to cart it about as its jsut extra unnecessary weight, I also have a high chance of getting covered in various body fluids whilst at work so I see it as pointless. Hair has to be tied back for work. Out of work normally just stay scruffy and comfortable but occasionally smarten up for my bf and usually dress up and wear make up if we are going to go out somewhere.
