I'm entered for 3 marathons (standard distance) in 3 days this May. Having never done back to back big races I thought I'd seek some advice in the ultra forum. I'd be grateful for any tips for rapid muscle recovery, pacing (do I aim for quickest event on day 1 or day 3), and nutrition. I'm expecting a few "don't do it"s but I'm sure there are a few ultra runners who might be happy to help. I did Brighton Marathon yesterday in a reasonable (for me) time, and shuffled 5k this morning on understandably tired legs. The intention was to run another 5k this evening and then keep up this schedule until the weekend. Thanks in advance |

I found this race today (having been priced-out of the Antarctic Ice Marathon!) and am very keen to enter and am looking for a fellow singleton (any nationality) to share the experience with.
If you're also interested you may have seen the costs and the single supplement which I'm trying to avoid. It would seem as though all prices are quoted for twin rooms. Unfortunately my wife is a school teacher and it'll be term time, hence the reason I'm resorting to these desperate measures.
I figure that there must be another potential participant out there who cannot travel with family or friends, and wishes to save some money.
I don't snore and my feet are relatively odour free post-run. |
