Im doing it over 2 days to minimise injury risk but also because 69 miles in one go seems totally beyond my reach at the moment but all power to those who are.
Book trunk doesn't it seem insane that marathons become a LSR! I will try and enter one in April and in May but I think it will be really difficult to not to want to 'race them'.
I have booked the travelodge in Carlisle for friday and the same in newcastle for sun night and here is the really naughty bit (I have booked a b&b at vindolanda also) I do love camping but that night I will be desperate for a huge bath and a comfy bed!! Also the price of taking a tent etc on the plane up is more than the B&B!! Seemed like it was meant to be.
Off to do 10 miles now and 15 tomorrow. Dreading the back to back runs !!
Hello everyone . I have read and re read your thread , I felt so undecided but listening to all of you who are also doing this as your first ultra has given me the confidence to enter , so I'm all signed up and in !
Have run 2 marathons before and trained up for a further 2 but ended up injured More weeks before . Have learned from my mistakes and am defiantly going to be at that start line .
I have the grizzly in 4 weeks and am hoping to use that as a spring board into some good ultra training .
So how is everyone's training going at the moment?
Ps all my running partners have declared this event too insane so I am going up alone , anyone else ?
