Really long time no post for me. I've got a lot of catching up to do re messages...
News update. I have just accepted a permanent job offer I had loads of interviews, and was in a tricky situation over the past couple of days with 3 job offers to choose from. I can now put that behind me and look forward to the future.
Re running, I ran a 10k PB on Sunday, but I had to work really really hard for it. 51:42 in the local 10k organised by the local running club.
I haven't made any progress in the losing weight and getting fitter/faster part of my plan for this year as I've been held back with a few minor health issues. That said, my priority was getting my work life sorted out rather than just running for the past few months.
*looking forward to joining in the banter and entering some longer runs*

Thanks for your comments. I am looking forward to getting rid of my cold and getting out running again.
A further bit of news: just received a job offer just a contract role, but will give me a bit of certainty for a few months.

Hi everyone *waves* Just caught up the past couple of weeks, seems like everyone is progressing well. I'm still looking for work, but have a short running story.
I didn't run at all last week because of a cold. I was entered in the Reading Half marathon, and went for a fast one, despite not being at all over the cold. I was running at 1hr 55 pace for 11 miles and the combination of my sickness (I felt like I was breathing blood from my lungs) and the inclement weather drained me, so I took it easy to make sure I finished in the stadium, rather than in a hospital. I did it in 1hr 58:28, which was 10 mins faster than last year, but a bit behind what I'd planned.
I'm still full of a cold, still coughing (thankfuly not blood) and suffering from muscle soreness which is giving me a phobia of stairs.
I'm hoping to get well soon and have just entered my 1st ever 10miler at Maidenhead.
Some positive news on the junior parkrun, got the go-ahead, getting things ready for April 7th

Thanks for the great comments
I'm still positive and looking forward to the spring. Its keeping the morale of my family up all of the time that's difficult!
Its nice to keep reading about other people's running progress in the meantime.
I hope to have good news and will be sure to post it here

Just caught up on a month of posts. Some good progress being made by all!
I have been working pretty hard, not sleeping well and not having much luck yet in finding a new job.
My running hasn't been great for most of that period, I've just not had the inclination and felt uninspired (apart from parkrun).
As a result my mileage over the past few weeks has been (since my job news):
16,15,11,10, but this week I ran a fast 5k on Saturday - my fastest parkrun since September, and it brought my Ranking back up a bit, 10m on Sunday morning (it was cold, I was tired and hurting from the day before, but once I got into it, it went surprisingly well), I ran 5m and 3m on Tuesday and 5m today at lunchtime. So 26m since Saturday is pretty good and I feel better for it.
I just hope I can find something work wise soon, I have been projectiong into the future how long I would last before I hit the streets
