Ha awesome! Well done. Yes Chester seems a good course. Have done it twice now. A couple of unwelcome short sharp climbs but good other than that. The really flat ones (ie Manchester) I find hard. Relentlessly flat with no reprieve!
SHADES...won't get another chance this time round as I've got too much on in next few weeks. Agreed it will start getting too warm now too! I'm a terrible runner in the heat! I'll just be waiting for the ballot results and hoping to smash it in Autumn at Chester. TBH...my main aim is to sneak under 3h...I'll probably hang up my marathon shoes for a while after that, if I ever get there...but it would be nice to run London once more. Only done it once before.
Did you manage to get any prizes with the age hike they gave you??
I'll certainly do this one again...enjoyed it!
Well done guys!! Sounds like you both did well! It was a tough day at the office for sure. It was a pretty warm one and the climbs were a little unexpected. The mapmyrun elevation profile showed 300 and something feet. Looking at my garmin it shows as 1148ft so the quoted number must be in metres! I enjoyed the course though! It was a scenic one with a decent amount of aid stations too. Was hoping to get a good for age for London but was 3 minutes adrift. Finished in 3.08 which given the hills I was pretty pleased with! Sneaked a few extra places in the last 4mi. I'll definitely do it again.
Rest up now guys! It'll be time to plan for the next one soon I'm sure! time for a beer!...
