Cheers Mrs Hog, This is always the thing with mixed terrain races! How much would you say is run-able with road shoes (i.e road and well established path) vs how much is trail shoe terrain? 50/50? 80/20? Grateful for your estimate! |

Hi, Anyone done this before? I mainly run off road but reallty dislike wearing trail shoes unless its 'proper' soft, rocky, muddy, uneven etc... I've been to Bewl Water before and cant imagine the terrain is that challenging (although I've only been to the visitor centre so I cant really comment!)...? Does anyone know? Are the trails generally well established and firm? Or are we talking ankle deep mud and beyond? Grateful for intel! K |

Another positive recommendation for Lakeland Trails Coniston Marathon... Did it last year - great route / great organisation. Course gets harder as it goes round! A few others not yet mentioned... Meon Valley Plod - cant rate this highly enough... 21 miles but hard as nails. Well worth a look. North Downs Way - my local! Three Mole Hills - mixed terrain but takes in Box Hill and is very well organised. And one I havent done but plan to next year... Pen-y-Fan (The Fan Dance) |
