I was 120kg when I started riding a year and half ago and had no idea that there was any weight restrictions on bikes. I went and ordered a ribble bike for £950 and no problems what so ever. When the bike did arrive however my other half was very worried that them skinny wheels would take my not so skinny frame. So in my opinion it shouldnt matter what you get I think it is just companies covering there arse.
Cheers Citizen, I agree, very surprised that they let me cycle still, but spoke to the main race organiser and he could not have been more helpful. I will always remember incidents like that when booking up events and try to spend my money with these guys again.
Hi Citizen I was one of the DNF's calf went after 1k. They very kindly let me do the bike still though and got round that in 1:09 so every cloud. Good work though lads only spotted one Pirate who got a cheer.
Unfortunatly the Motorhome is really the only option as my old man is doing it as well and he has brought one!! Looks like I will have to keep on trying I'm sure something will come up and if means getting someone to drive us as close as they can the morning of the race we will have to do that.
