Hello everyone, and excuse my silly question: this is my first fell 20 miler (did some hilly and muddy halfs, also road 20 miler), not quite sure which shoes to bring? Five Fingers are out, I imagine, other options would be Trail Glove (medium grip) and Inov8 Bare Grip 200 (proper trail shoe). Inov8 is not very good on hard ground or roads, but perfect for grass and mud. So, any danger of long stretches of hard ground or is it the soft welcoming mud and grass all the way?
I asked if I could get a discount for Cotswold marathon (since it's organised by the same people, beyondlmitations), and got this reply:
"Sorry the discount is for next years marathon i would like to help but have 600 runners from the marathon and it can not be done sorry..Anne" So I guess everybody who's registered for this year's marathon can signup for next year's with a discount.
Insult to injury, the Cotswold marathon was also cancelled, but I got offered a place in Boddington instead. I agreed before realising it was a 12-lap marathon, ouch So, well, my very first marathon consistently fails to start.
