Yep got a lovely sun tan/burn vest on the go now! Pefect weather really. My only negative was the lack of water station over the last 4 miles. One not enough. Was helped by the local shanding our water and oranges though, was much appreciated.
I didnt mind the doubling back personally. If its means you run along the front more rather than heading onto the town it gets my vote. Also means you get to see your fellow club runners and cheer eachother on.
1st and probably last marathon in 3.29.42. Couldnt be happier.
Nobody can do anything about the weather, so whats the point in the 'pray for good weather or it will be tough', its a marathon for crying out loud.
As for the £8 bus, dont buy the ticket. Solves that one.
Its a commerical operation so are you really surprised this isnt the cheapest race around?
Plenty will be raised for charity, many people will complete there first marathons, the fact a few people might not be able to run a pb due to less than perfect conditions by the sea in october is a rather minor point.
