Injured my tibialis posterior tendon earlier in the year when training for London Marathon (my first marathon). Recovered with physio, although it was never perfect. Ran marathon without it giving me any problems but tried to do too much too soon after and it flared up again as well as giving me some plantar fasc problems too. That was in May. Since then I have rested it, had physio, iced it, taken anti inflammatories, done lots of strengthening and stretching but despite taking weeks off at a time whenever I start running again as soon as I get over 20 minutes it flares up and is sore again.
Worried that I have done it permanent damage. Been road running for 6 years but in my youth (am 48) did a lot of explosive sport.
Anyone had anything similar? Got any ideas or how long it may take or any 'magic' exercises to cure it?
Good luck Sarah. Been following your journey and sure you'll do really well, exceeding your original goal easily. Weather in Paris looking good for Sunday too. Enjoy the race and the celebration after. I'm doing London so still two and a bit weeks to go.
