Not been running since Thursday, will get check up on Monday then hopefully bp will be lower or should be given a solution. Would not care but just ran 1.47 1/2 marathon 4 days before and felt fine or as good as you do at the end of a 1/2 marathon!! Going to try a few differant things eating wise and see if this has any effect by Monday.
Can any forumites advise please, i am 43, male and been running on and off since 12, last 5 years consecutive 6ft 2in, 13st 10lb. I joined a health club to run on treadmills on the dark nights however i failed the blood pressure test at the start, coming up with a rate of between 155/95-160/100. As far as i know i have never suffered hbp before. I've never smoked only drink in moderation and eat reasonably healthy ie cereals 5 portions fruit a day, fruit juice, sensible meals etc with the odd takeaway thrown in ie once a month. Chocolate buscuits are my downfall maybe 8 or 9 a week, would this cause hbp. How can i get this down or is medication the only option. I am now looking at salt content on all foods as i can only come up with this as the possible problem
Great run for 4 mile then the heavens opened but it did'nt really matter, good run, good course cracking views and scenery even through the mist!!. Hopefully will give this another go next year. One little gripe though medal would be nice, although the mars bar never touched the sides!!
