Crikey, after I made my hello post a few pages back I went out for a 20 mile run and bang my calf went about 5 miles in. However I come into this thread and realise there are lots of us with injuries lately
I am going to try and adjust my usually set in stone training plan and try and still be at the start line in a few weeks.
Hi all, not posted on RW forums for a while, but I'm running Edinburgh too this year so thought I'd start getting to know my fellow competitors
I've run Marathons before but this is my first one since Manchester last April due to bereavement and injuries so it's feeling a bit like starting again but my pace (if I can call it that) seems to be coming back just in time. I'd like to get back to a 3:30 finish but baring in mind the time I have been away from running I guess I'd be happy with anything fairly close to it.
Looks like your all doing really well and getting ready for the big day so good luck to you all in the remaining weeks
I'm supposed to be running this again, but pulled my calf muscle last Sunday. It doesn't feel too bad after nearly a week off but can't decide whether to go and try and run it slow or give it a miss and let my calf fully recover
I was planning on running Chester this year and hopefully getting a PB based on peoples comments about the course, however upon returning from holiday a week before I was going to start my training I found out my mum had terminal cancer, 2 weeks later she died.
Unfortunately through this time and for weeks since I hit the booze pretty hard and ate just garbage all the time and lost all my motivation for running. I'm getting my head together a bit now and plan to start 9 weeks of training next Monday and do a couple of small runs this weekend just to get the blood flowing.
I have run a number of marathons before, last one was Manchester earlier this year which I ran 3:32. I'm unsure why I am typing this to you all, but mostly I think I am hoping to help motivate myself (and in turn others) through the camaraderie of people on this forum as I have made good friends on here before.
