My first run was in February 2009 and was a 3.5k charity fun run organised by my place of work. Although I finished last, it gave me the running bug and I immediately signed up for a 5k race in May 2009. My running is purely recreational - just completing the course is achievement enough - but by running for charity I hope to give myself the incentive to continue, and raise some money for a good cause at the same time.
