Well, I started running at Xmas after some persistent (and successful) badgering from a mate. So I put down my swimming trunks and goggles and got a pair of running shoes. Never looked back (except in on-coming traffic).
Since then I've completed 10k (pb 41'40), half marathon (pb 1:30), marathon (3:23) and ultramarathon (8hrs for 42mi) distances. I also now do ironman and half ironman tris, just to show off.
Loves: running at dawn or dusk when there's no-one else around; shoe shopping; fantasising about the Trek Madone 08.
Hates: Boy racers; SUV & people carriers; having to pledge a gazillion pounds just to run FLM; police crime scene tents on my off road route; getting up at ohmygod o'clock to swim in a lake.
