Gave up football after rupturing my anterior cruciate ligament. After a few inactive years I took up running as a form of exercise. I run once a week on average and have done this regularly for the last 2 years. I've noticed a marked improvement in my fitness without making any other lifestyle changes. I'd recommend running to anyone who wants to get fitter relatively quickly.
