'Great on anything except cloying mud'
Strengths:
Light, fast and generally grippy.Excellent on grass and gravel trails.Dry out quickly with no apparent ill-effects even after a thorough soaking.Secure, comfortable fit.

OK on short stretches of road, although limited cushioning means they're really for off-road usage.
Weaknesses:
In a recent X-C race, the studded insole got clogged with soft, sticky mud, which reduced their grip considerably and proved very hard to clear on the run.
Overall:
Great shoe for X-C or Trail racing in all conditions except thick, sticky mud.

'LIKE RUNNING IN CARPET SLIPPERS.'
Strengths:
Very light and comfortable.Excellent fit, extremely responsive and "fast feeling".
Weaknesses:
Terrific for 5 and 10K's etc,but my feet were starting to hurt by the end of a half marathon. As others have said, the lattice soles are prone to picking up small stones and gravel.I actually had to stop in my last race to remove a very annoying little stone that I couldn't shift-and I had to prise it out with a key!

Don't even think of wearing them off road.
Overall:
A great shoe for racing on the roads. They are really comfortable and super-responsive.They make you feel as if you're running fast and are far and away the best racing shoe I've had so far.

The Perfect Distance: Ovett and Coe - The Record Breaking Rivalry by Pat Butcher

'FASCINATING LOOK-BACK TO THE GREAT DAYS OF UK DISTANCE RUNNI'
Strengths:
Steve Ovett remains my greatest running "hero" and this book had me running to Youtube to see the key moments of his-and Seb Coe's-career all over again.

It's a fascinating tale and this book brings it all back,in remarkable detail.
Weaknesses:
Doesn't really "get inside" Ovett and Coe and find what really made them tick.I also feel the book could have done with more background and context on the era in which they were running. Its focus is a bit too narrow.

The season-by-season narrative format gets repetitive by the end.
Overall:
A 3 out of 5- great book for anyone interested in Ovett,Coe and their contempories-but a better book maybe remains to be written

'A MISTAKE !'
Strengths:
Light,good traction,nice feel.
Weaknesses:
Too narrow in the forefoot,"slappy",especially running downhill.
Overall:
I should have stuck with Asics;the fit was too narrow and they had a weird "slappy" feel when running downhill.Disappointing and I wouldn't buy them again.

None really-off road grip not so great.
Overall:
