'Good bog standard max support trainer. I have two pairs.'
Strengths: Great for support, really does what it says on the box, max support and lasts a long time. I wear two pairs in rotation and even after a year (am the average 20 miles p/wk runner plus other gym things) they show no creases and have life in them yet!
Weaknesses: They are not as soft as the Evolution which offers the same level of support. They also don't look as pretty as the Kayano, Nimbus or the Nike Lunarglides which I wish I could wear (either no cash, or no support).
They have little to complain about, not 'WOW' trainers (like the Evolution 6) but not a bad word to say about them really to be honest.
Overall: I have just bought a pair of Foundation 9s and theres little in the differences between these and their replacements. They offer great support and have a great lifespan, lasting longer then previous trainers from Asics I have had (1150, 2150).
I would rebuy the foundation 9 rather then the 8s because they are a tiny bit more cushiony at the ankle, but other then that I don't feel the differences.
