Garmin Forerunner 405
Posted: 08/06/10
'I would not be able to follow my training plans without it'
Strengths:
Easy to use
Excellent visual and audible prompts
Fabulous Garmin website
Tailored training plans can be downloaded from RW to the Garmin Training Centre software
Battery life meter
Small and lightweight
Weaknesses:
Sometimes a little slow to get satellite lock
Bezel does not like rain ... you need to "lock" it when running in rain
Expensive
Overall:
The most valuable piece of equipment I have purchased for my training. I use it for running and mountain biking. I have owned this for just over 8 months and it has not let me down. I would be lost without it!

A bit like the iPod, the real winner with the 405 is the user interface. The watch itself is simple to use, with the tap and scroll bezel allowing you to easily move through the menus as required. The supplied Garmin Training Centre software is excellent, but the real ace in the pack is the Garmin Connect website allowing you to upload your workout data, and track your performance.

I can not recommend this product highly enough. If you are thinking about buying it ... just buy it!
