Overall: Run my way through 3 pairs of the Trigon 1 Durable, and more recently a pair of Trigon 1 Responsive which I preferred. Purchased 2 pairs of the Trigon 2 Responsive cheap when the T3 came out. Only done 61 miles in the first pair but my initial reactions are that they seem a bit too firm for my liking. Perhaps that'll change as I wear them in a bit more, but if not I'll have to grin-and-bear-it until I've worn them throug. At least it'll make race days (Fastwitch Endurance) an even greater pleasure.
'LIGHTWEIGHT AND COMFORTABLE. FEELS LIKE A SLIPPER.'
Strengths: Lightweight - great for racing. Feels good so gives confidence as well as actual benefits from it's lightness. Used this season from 5k - Marathon. Extremely comfortable - even ran a marathon in a pair that had only done 1 x 7, and 1 x 5 mile run with no major problems. (See weaknesses).
Weaknesses: Discovered tears in the fabric just above where the upper joins the midsole when cleaning dirt off the soles 6 days before a marathon! Shoes had only been used for 224 miles at that point compared to the 400-500 that I was quoted in the Saucony shop (US).
Soles of the feet were really sore after the mara, unlike previous occasions when running in Saucony Trigons. Ok within 24-48 hours after and didn't notice any issues during the race but something to watch. Not an issue in long runs as part of mara build up, or in racing half-M.
Overall: Returned original pair to Saucony yesterday. Still awaiting their comments / resolution. I'd be disappointed if they fail to replace them, and may look elsewhere. However, in the abscence of a suitable alternative, I liked them so much that I would still buy another pair even if I knew I'd only get 200-250 miles out of them. Does impact the perceived "value" though.
