'THEY'RE TASTY TASTY VERY VERY TASTY.....THEY'RE VERY TASTY'
Strengths: Great taste and lots of different flavours most will find something they find palatable. They work too and are relatively cheap
Weaknesses: Can be difficult to find in shops. I've got them using t'internet.
Overall: Of all the gels I've tasted these are the only ones that I can take without gaging. Water is needed sometimes but the taste is always good (fruits and chocolate). Would like to see them more widely available. They work just as well if not better than anything else
Strengths: Great flexibility, lots of features which you can choose to use or not in various combinations to suit many different types of run
Weaknesses: Can sometimes take a while to get a signal which leaves me standing in the street with my hands on my head. It would be useful if it beeped when it finally acquired a signal so that I don't have to keep checking it and so that I don't spend any more time looking as if I'm knackered before I even set off.
Overall: Owning this device is liberating in lots of ways. It opens up new ways of training such as accurate intervals which can be difficult away from the track or running at particular paces. The virtual partner is great fun every now and again but don't be tempted to race against it every time you go out. But the most liberating aspect for me was that I could deviate off my usual routes when and where I liked and still would have a pretty accurate idea of the distance covered. Adding an extra mile or two to a run when you are feeling good is also great to be able to do. The fact that it loses signal every now and then in some conditions is a minor irritation but I would definitely recommend a garmin to anyone.
