I take part in events: 1-11 times a year I also do these sports: Swimming, Walking (hill walking)

Encouraged by two of my children, I started running in my late 50s with the aim of staying as fit as possible into retirement; and got hooked. I have taken part in a few races, the most ambitious being several half-marathons. 2016 saw the development of a persistent knee problem, apparently related to arthritis. Unlikely to attempt any more half-marathons, but can still manage 3 or 4 miles, usually with a few short walk breaks.
