 More about me
A rainy November's evening in 2005 just after I turned 30 I went out for a run; a couple of days later I went out again and ran a bit further. From then I was hooked. I've had a few ups and downs since then both in life and in running. Doing too much too soon, going out just to go further or faster than before. Taking part in races without training, a real buzz, that feeling going beyond previous limitations to unexplored physiological teritory, especially on the first half marathon and marathon. It also probably caused me shin splints and priformis syndrome that took a couple of years to shake properly. The discovery of forefoot running, running on trails and running slower. Running slower because I got married and my wife is a great cook, she also bore me a son. So now I need to keep running to enjoy her food without guilt and think about keeping fit to keep up with my boy. There's a lot more to my life than running, its sometimes an indulgence but its probably necessary; I can't do it as often as I want and I might not reach the goals I have set for myself but at least the other aspects of my life go smoother when I get my hit on the bricks and trails ............................................................. half marathon 1:46:05 Glasgow 2006 marathon 4:04:19 Lochaber 2007 10k 45:43 Clydebank 2007
