| | I'm a 24 year old teacher from Yorkshire.
I started running in January 2007 in an attempt to get fit and stay in shape. I joined a local running club which helped a lot; the camaraderie and support were very motivating and I met some inspiring runners. In May 2007 I ran my first race (the Askern 10k) in 1:02:17, and I loved the feeling of completing a race and crossing the finish line with my fellow club members cheering me on. However, for whatever reason, I started to lack motivation after another couple of months and my running eventually tailed off completely in the summer. But a year later, in June 2008, I decided to return to the sport and the only thing I regret about that decision is that I didn't start running again sooner!
I ran the Albert Bartlett Edinburgh Marathon in May 2009 in 4:52:48. I must have been bitten by the marathon bug because I signed up for the same race again in 2010! This time I completed it in 4:59:58 after struggling in the heat and being pushed on my brother, who ran the race with me. | | | Message me |
