More about me
I have been doing various sports for over 50 years . Rugby, Rowing, & Running ( track & X country ) were always my favourites. Running is the only sport I have been able to maintain throughout out this time. In my younger days I preferred sprints & hurdle events on the track. In 1981 I entered the 1st Great North Run and managed to keep up an unbroken attendance since. There are now only 2 of us in Durham City with that record.
I became seriously ill in 2005 but I regard myself as lucky to be alive. Many things gave me the determination to survive , one of which was to 'put on my running shoes again'
I am a member of the Elvet Striders club in Durham and am now back into the swing of 10k races and looking forward to improved fitness & times over that distance, 10 miles and 1/2 marathons.
