More about me
Updating my status for 2014-having run a total of 1000 miles during 2013 (first time I have hit 1000 miles in a year) I am now turning my attention to more consistent mileage and speedwork. Some frustrating PBs to attack: 50.17 (more recently, 52.30) for 10k, 2.04 for 1/2M, 25.33 for 5k. Last year I wanted to break all these PBs, and didnt keep the speedwork up. This year lets see if I can do better- will target the 1/2M first, and see what that does to my 5k times at parkrun. I also want to do a marathon again (probably the Thames Meander as it is such a beautiful course and partly off road), so this will help boost the mileage. Previously I have worked in running retail, for Sweatshop and then for the Jog Shop in Brighton. Though I now do a completely different job, I still pop into the Jog Shop from time to time and join in their training runs when I can - I partly attribute my previous marathon finishes to Sam and Tony from the Jog Shop, and their evil (but beautifully scenic) Sunday runs!
