 More about me
Life is about balance. I love to socialise but Running has made me feel fitter and healthier so I like to balance the two. Last year I ran the Run to the Beat Half Marathon for the Leukemia and Lymphoma charity and it was my first run over that distance. I can honestly say it was one of the best days of my life. Everything went perfectly. Beaming sun, great atmosphere, music dotted all along the course....I was nervous but it was more like excited butterflies. I could not wait to start. Throughout the whole race I loved every bit of it. I trotted along that route a few times previously to get familiar with the Run and I knew where the hilly moments came. They were like my enemy each time I saw them, slowly becoming my friend. On the day, I greeted the hills with a smile like I had met a familiar friendly face. I enjoyed the challenge of striding up the rising gradient. As we ran around Greenwich, the lined streets got busier. Everyone was clapping for us! What an Amazing feeling. But I could not believe my eyes when I approached the 2km to go mark. My legs were wanting more! I was bouncing off the road as if I had just started. Crossing the line in a time 15 mins faster than I had estimated previously for my first run in 2hr 15 mins has got to be the best feeling in the world for me. I want that feeling again. And I am so looking forward to entering some races this year. Hopefully I can run a half marathon again. :-)
