| | Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance takes to the skies daily to save lives. Our helicopter is based at Coventry Airport and covers a huge part of the M1. But apart from road traffic collisions we also rescue people out enjoying their sport - whether running, riding or on the golf course or football pitch.
Last year we flew to the Silverstone Half Marathon. A runner collapsed 20 minutes after achieving a PB on the way to what should have been his 10th London Marathon. Bob Boswell said: "I thought I wwas going to die and was so scared. I will be forever grateful for what the WNAA crew did for me. Every minute they saved in treating me at the scene and flying me to a specialist unit helped my heart." Bob is now in cardio rehab twice a week but back running regularly and also fundraising for WNAA.
