I have been a regular runner now for the past 26 years. I started when I was 19 running cross country and local 5mile/10k races. I was inspired by the now defunct Barnsley 6. I have run for the same club all my athletics career. Over the years the distances I race over have gradually increased until I now concentrate on ultra distance events, chiefly the 100km event in which my pb is 8hrs 15mins. My marathon best stands at 2hrs 32mins, though age has caught up with me somewhat and now my target is a much more modest 3hrs. I am a member of the IAU and base my ultra year around their championship races the european and world challenges and the british champs/anglo celtic plate. I have run int hte spartathlon 3 times but have not been able to finish and I would like to compete in the Comreades and the Western States 100miles one day.
