Just started running again (3 weeks ago) thanks to encouragement from Ms Whiplash 2012, Melanie Williams, who has been selected for the ASICS 26 team for Paris in 2013 (Congrats Mel).
Things are coming along well and the main thing (for me) is that my heart rate and breathing are steadily improving and despite telling Mel that I'm definitely not interested in races nowadays, I amazed myself by thinking that I might sign up for a half marathon soon. I've done a few halfs, years ago, and just the one Marathon (London, 2002) but resolved not to do any more full marathons because my knees were shot at the end. So, perhaps a half is the right length for me? I did a nice 55min yesterday with a running buddy and enjoyed every minute of it, so maybe adding another half an hour would be the way to go. We'll see :)
