In short: Hard but appealing
In full: I got around half way through this race and thought 'never again'! The uphills really were quite hard! But, bieng a circular route they were accompanied by some fast downhills. By the end I changed my mind. Scenery was lovely, organisation excellent and atmosphere friendly. May do again if free. Be prepared to possibly walk some of it and enjoy!

In short: Loved it
In full: First time I have run this one after a recommendation from a friend. I am really glad I did. Only my second trail run and am enjoying them immensely compared to the usual pavement slogs. Lovely cross country route with some nice downs and challenging ups! Plan to be back next year.

Many thanks to the organisers, including the marshalls, for a great morning out.

One comment to the organisers. Would it be possible in the race brief to politely request that those runners who walk uo the steps to keep the middle free if at all possible for those who are trying to run up please and/or not walk three abreast? It's hard enough trying to run up them without also repeatedly having to politely ask people to move over.

In short: Loved it
In full: Really enjoyed this one thanks. My first 'trail' race so don't know how to compare it in terms of toughness but I though it was pretty hard going. Not helped by the fact that I only have road shoes...Made a lovely change to running around Dorney Lake. Thanks to everyone who helped run this event. Well worth turning up for.

In short: One of my favourites
In full: I've been running this race since 2007 for two reasons. One, it is the closest race to where I live and two, I really enjoy it. Another good one thanks MAC. I was a bit thrown at the start when we went the wrong way, but all was corrected. But at least the bridge was open (been worrying about that for weeks!). Thanks ever so much to the organisers, the marshalls, the water providers and anyone else who helped make it a great morning's event once again.

Was hoping for a really fast time (for me) this year but did struggle a bit. Thought it would be cold but ended up getting a tad hot. Still, knocked over a minute of my previous best for this course so was pleased.

The t-shirt was brillant thanks, more than happy to have that rather than a medal or goodie bag. Didn't realise it was a 'technical' one until I got home (I had thought "Oh well, another t-shirt that I won't wear" but was very pleased when I opened it).

Looking forward to next year already.

In short: Lovely morning out for the whole family
In full: My 6th running of this event (why are previous year's reviews on runners world elsewhere?) and really enjoyed the whole morning as always. As did my family. Such a lovely, friendly event. Will be back again next year.

Only drawbacks were that kids missed not having a bouncy castle this year, and I could have done with a second water station due to the warm weather.

In short: Very enjoyable new half marathon event
In full: Thanks to PP and all of the marshalls, water stop helpers and anyone else for an enjoyable morning. Being a local to Maidenhead it was great to run a half marathon so close to home.

Despite it being an easy route in theory, I was quite a lot slower than my pb. Think might be a question of training/prep rather than anything else though.

Route was great. Unlike others, I enjoyed the first lap at the start! Meant my family could cheer me on more than once. Need to sort out the faster runners catching up before all get through start line though. Road closures worked well. Not great having to go under the main road twice, but I am not sure there is much that can be done about that. There were clear mile markers (one reviewer didn't see them).

Timing indicators at the start would be useful to help people line up in right place according to expected finishing time.

Didn't use/need baggage drop or toilets.

I plan to run every year, with my designated number.

In short: Very enjoyable team event. Highly recommend it.
In full: Second year of running this and really enjoyed it. Lovely atmosphere and well organised. Routr around Maidenhead is great. Slightly twisty bu get to run along the high street as well as along the thames. Thanks Purple Patch and helpers. Many thanks also to *all* of the marshalls. Can't have been that nice stood in the rain, but they were brilliant and giving directions and encouragement. Hoping I can do the half planned in September. Will be back for the relay next year - need to keep our shield!

In short: Very enjoyable - one of my favourites
In full: A very enjoyable 10k. Lovely to have it back since it's last running in 2007. Must admit that I can't quite remember the old course, but today's route was great. Lots of variety, including the 'cross-country' like start and finish, the tow path and some town bits in the middle. Didn't quite make it to the Oracle though?!

Thanks to the organisers and marshalls for a lovely start to my Sunday morning.

In short: A special race
In full: My 5th consecutive year of running this race, and it is still one of my favourite events of the year. Great organisation and marshalling thanks (though only one sit down toilet for the blokes?). Love the feel to this event, with the bouncy castle (free!), tombola (kids won bottle of champagne!), BBQ (family made use of after the race, sat on our picnic rug in the sun), cakes and beer (didn't indulge).

Love the fact that my children can take part in the safe, around park, 3k (or the short dash if you have younger children). Would have preferred this to have started slightly later as I missed the start, which didn't happen last year. I was in no rush to leave the event, but maybe people are keen to get on with things and get home again.

Found it quite tough this year. Discovered at start that my Garmin battery was depleted so ran the course 'blind'. Thought I was being slow, but got a course record for me. I have got faster every year since I started in 2006. Can't go on for ever!

Thanks to everyone. Will be there next year again if I am free.

In short: Thanks to the organisers for a nice evening's run
In full: First time doing this race. I will do it again as I have entered all 3 of the series. It was a nice, enjoyable race to turn up for. Organisation was very good. Route a little dull, but totally as expected. Good view of Windsor castle! Nice and fast and not congested with runners. Actually could have done with a few more maybe. Am interested to know the accuracy of the distance and timing - I am sure that it is fine but one always wonders...Think I pb-ed....waiting for results to go online.
