In short: Glorious scenery, very well organised simply magnificent.
In full: Everything was spot on, good advance info (just add the postcode of the car park to the material), clear start area (an indication of finishing times would help split this up a bit), well marshalled, great weather, glorious route fast first half (downhill) tougher second half, bastard hill at mile 8 (we were warned in advance though) and then gradual incline to finish. Minor issues such as not having a tent to put baggage in should it have rained and the usual more toilets and smaller T shirts please. I treated this as a marathon training run and did 4m before, then raced and did 3 after. The 3 after were very very slow! Goody bag and Boost bar were very welcome. Great race and organisation, i'll be back in the future after a bit more hill work!

In short: Not the greatest organisation but cheap and cheerful
In full: This race definitely needs more marshalls and organisation at registration, during key stages such as busy road crossings, place where arrows get stolen and at the finish area. I couldn't hear the organiser near the start (despite being near the front) but markings were clear until mile 23 when the flour marking on the floor had washed away and the arrows had fallen down due to the rain. Very muddy and slippy underfoot so off road shoes essential, forget the road shoes you'll pay for it later. Many runners got lost and some cut it short to get back to the finish during the marathon. I ended up running an extra mile and lost 9 places as a result of getting lost post mile 23. Most unforgivable was the lack of a finish sign or area and had to ask where to go and ran into the hotel lobby. Could be a great race with better organisation and allowances made for the rain. The help and support at water and food stations was excellent so thanks to those marshalls who braved the horrible conditions. Easy to get lost points are the Gypsy camp (sign fell down), mile 23 crossing the main road - no arrows but we were supposed to go straight on, near the bus depot no signage (probably pinched) and finally a clear finish banner please. As i ran the marathon route i didnt have any issues with waiting round for buses but some very unhappy runners came in after i'd finished after having to wait ages for buses.

In short: Why does it always rain on race day, evil chafing strikes again!
In full: A great race despite the cold and rain, definitely one to do at least once in your lifetime.

In short: A great undulating and scenic race
In full: A great little race. Lovely scenary for most of the route, great organisation (despite the long walk to the start), excellent finish area. A few ideas for next time - toilets near the start please, free parking for runners and a technical T-shirt (its a great advert for you as well!). See you next year. PS its really hurst if you race Snowdon marathon the week before!

In short: My forth and my finest, pen 1 and a PB improvement of 9 mins as i didnt have to dodge slower runners!
In full: A magnificent race and organisation. A 3.12 last year got me in pen 1 so i could start at 7 min pace instead of 8 or 9's and got a new PB of 3.03, sub 3 next year is the plan. The only downside is the T shirt, being cotton and XL it was a disappointment again, GNR ask you for your size when you enter and they have more runners, Why cant VLM? And just how many runners are XL anyway?

In short: A great rural run without the crowds to slow you down
In full: the 3 lap route proved great for the quicker runners as I had people to chase down and keep me on pace. A bit pricey though considering the cotton T shirt and glass block at the end. A technical T shirt with cakes and a coffee included would have made all the difference.

In short: Race entries on the day but no memento? and no offer to send one on afterwards, very poor and tight!
In full: I arrived half an hour before the race started to book in only to be told I would not get a race memento at the end as they had acheived 330 runners. No discount on the price though and I was only offered a bottle of water at the end. P*** up and brewery springs to mind. If they cant handle entries on the day say so, its no way to treat runners who have travelled from miles away. They could have offered to send a memento on afterwards or at elast hand over goodie bag but obviously the 97p for a mug was to excessive, sort it our Amazing Feet there's nothing amazing about the organisation of this race!
