In short: Rolls Royce of marathons
In full: Everything about this race is brilliant.
The organisation, information, friendliness of absolutely everyone. All first class.
Marshalls, helpres, other runners, supporters, the scenery is great too.
Right at the end, just over the line, there was someone who grabbed me by the hand - 'well done, congratulations' it was just ACE.

Thank you to everyone involved in such a brilliant event.

In short: very friendly
In full: The organisation was faultless and the race is great value for money. All the marshalls were encouraging and it must have been freezing for them to stand at their points for so long in the cold wind. I particularly want to mention the chap at the turn around point at Parsley Hay, he was smiling and had a kind word for everyone who went passed, at what was the most exposed point on the course.
Thank you to everyone involved in the organisation, I wouldn't do this race again, simply because there are other races to do.
The views are great, if you can pick your head up for long enough, but the long climb is tough, and the steep downhills tougher.
It was a relief to get to the line, where the crowd really spurred me on.
Thanks again.

In short: Geat as usual
In full: The friendliest marshalls anywhere help to make this the first race on my calendar.
Despite the wind and grim weather I managed a pb, for the race and the distance, so I was doubly pleased.

Thanks again, High Legh - see you next year.

In short: Brilliant again!!
In full: Every year I look forward to getting my email about the High Legh 10k. It is just the best 10k out there, by far.
I must admit I wasn't too disappointed about the postponement from Februay to April, I much prefer running in the warm sun, and I had been ill over Christmas and the tedious snow had restricted any training I wanted to do, so I was happy with April --- any chance of a permanent Spring date??---
The communication over the postponement was first class.
The organisation of this event is really faultless and the atmosphere un rivalled, from the friendly marshalls to the friendly spectators, it's great.
The only down side is that my times are progressively slower each year by 15 seconds!!
Next year I will be back and set a pb for the course.
Thanks again to all who helped make it another terrific success.

In short: Great fun, but tough.
In full: SO very friendly.
Tough climbing to start and had to do a lot of walking, but eventually got into the swing of it and had a great time.

In short: Much improved
In full: I did this race last year and there were a few hicups with the organisation.

This year all the problems have been ironed out and it all went very smoothly, so the race organisers should be congratulated.
I have noted that someone said there were too many water stops!!! It appears that some people will never be happy.

The prizes were much better too.

In short: Brilliant again.
In full: I was really looking forward to this race after running in the first High Legh 10k. (as I write, I am drinking my moring cup of tea from the inaugural mug!)
The whole organisation was faultless, from the pre-race emails giving precise information, the race pack inclusive of 4 safety pins, to the race day marshalling.
This has to be the friendliest race on the calendar and will be the first race I look to put in my diary each year.

I was 15 seconds outside last years time, but a thoroughly enjoyable race for me.

WELL DONE EVERYONE AND THANK YO TO ALL THE MARSHALLS.

In short: Just great
In full: My first time at the Hellrunner, but not my last. I really enjoyed every second. I had worried about the parking situation after reading reviews from previous races, but I found a spot in the main car park and when I left there were no hold ups at all. The walk to the start was filled with trepidation but a nice easy warm up for the legs.
There was a minor hiccup with checking the bags in, but this was sorted out quickly. One tip would be to put your bag in early to avoid the rush.

I agree with other comments about staggering the start, if only because the first loop got a bit busy, but once we were in the forest I thought it was brilliant.
A really pleasant Sunday morning run through Delamere Forest was added to by the other 'obstacles'!!

I had a ball.

In short: a race of two halves
In full: The first half was quite hilly and quite pleasant, especially running through the university and the park. After the race split it got very lonely, depsite that fantastic encouragement of the marshalls, who were great all the way round.
There was plenty of water and Lucozade, in fact I almost feel there were too many feed stations!!! All the helpers handing out water were really helpful with a smile and word of encouragement.

I enjoyed the race because I managed a pb of 3h 55m, but am not sure I would do it again, because the second half seemed to be lacking some atmosphere.

On the whole it was well organised and the first half was definitley worth doing in its own right.
