In short: Stunning Scottish Marathon.
In full: This was my 12th Marathon & is up there with my favorites, a lot of hard work from a lot of helpful volunteers made for a brilliant experience.

From Registration to the finish the race organisation was spotlessly timed.

It had all the trademarks for any ability marathon runner.

lovely fast downhill start then undulating then some testing hills and flat finish.

So if you are a beginner marathoner I would recommend this cause the next flat one you should breeze it.

In short: This race also a favourite of mine-but was disapointed with last years mug.
In full: Great road race, well organised, plenty of friendly marshals. Thanks to all that have helped in such cold conditions.
The ice on the road was well warned in advance, still it made for tricky running conditions in certain spots.Hope everyone was ok. I personally had a great race and worked hard to crack the hour, which I just managed in 59.11 mins,(last year 61mins and year before). Not fast by some peoples standard but chuffed with the result. Not all is lost especially as I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, a chronic form of Arthritis.
One Question for the last three years, my Garmin Forerunner 305 has logged the distance at 7.89 miles and not the 8.2 miles. Anyone else found this?
Oh just one more question, where was the surprise in the goodie bag, as promised by Mark Woodall, was it last years mug by any chance?

In short: who let the dogs out?
In full: Well prepared race, nice T shirt and friendly staff/marshals. Could have done with a free hot tea to walk back with, and no fruit in the bag. Now, the dogs on the race, I did not expect. I love dogs and have a Collie at home, I just felt they could be in their own race up ahead, the people running with the dogs had a distinct advantage on the hilly course, being pulled along by dog power. Is that fair? It kind of put me off the race. I would be happy to see them and the owners up front but not along with the rest of us.

In short: Run this one many times and it's often hot. Earlier start would be better.
In full: Very hot this year, delayed start didn't help. Good crowds at the start/finish. Bottled water would be much better than plastic cups and a goody bag would be nice. Cadets did a great job along the route and carpark was well organised. This is my local race and I'll be back next year.

In short: Was worried about this race after reading the comments on last year's race but it was great! Good run up to the London Marathon, could have PB potential if it wasn't for the wind! Nice and flat, no traffic, well organised with friendly marshalls.
In full: will be back next year.
