In short: Love it... In full: I'm no good at these reviews, so just to say I loved this race and will be back next year. The lapped nature made it fun as you got overtook by the quick boys & girls which is amazing to see and you made friends with people around the course and got to see supporters and friends lots of times. Thank you TZ Runs, see you next year (and on the old garmin I got 27.22 miles so an unofficial ultra!!) Date of review: June 1, 2015
In short: AMAZING RACE - HOW SWEET THOU ART!!! In full: Where else can you run fast downhill for 4 miles? It's between mile 4 and 8 in Snowdonia marathon, but it's one of the best running experiences out there. The rest of the course if fab too... Challenging, forgiving, tough and exhilarating... The other runners, race support and organisation in general are great, it's a brilliant race and see you next year...
In short: Merry Christmas... Ho! Ho! Ho! In full: As first Santa to cross the line I'd like to thank the organisaers for a great race and hope to do this again next year... Date of review: December 16, 2013
In short: Excellent Half Marathon In full: Great value, good souvenir in time for winter (fluro t-shirt, orange this year!), excellent marshals, tough but fast course and top-notch facilities... Didn't have showers, but enough room to wet wipe & change in... Mentioned bottles to the Race Director and they'd tried to get smaller bottles. I manned-up and carried the HUGE 500ml bottles around, still don't like waste... Pricing of BBQ had come down this year (£1.50 instead of £2.50) but cakes still inextricably expensive, £1.50... make them a quid and I'll buy two!! Date of review: September 24, 2013
In short: Swim, Run, don't mess about in transition... In full: 1st go at an Aquathlon, well organised, excellently marshalled and a fun event in the lovely summer sun... Apparently I did 4 extra lengths (20 instead of 16), it was so exciting!!! And I messed up my transition - shoes on and GONE in future!! Not to worry, it was a great morning and look forward to future events. Date of review: August 13, 2013
In short: A tale of two halfs In full: 1st half loops through a housing estate, which is a bit dull, but sneaks in some undulatings without you noticing. Great hill up to halfway, last half has a great downhill for a mile then we're into countryside so a great 3 miles on undulating roads, then a magnificant downhill back to the town, before a sting in the tail and onto the finish.
Great organisation, facilities (showers always a bonus), mug AND pack of mints!! Cheap as chips as entered early and affiliated.
In short: Thank you TW Harriers... In full: Excellent race, organisation, facilities, ,edal presented by a Paralympian (I'm very honoured) and THE HILL... Knocked me down about a minute a mile but did well... Glad I bought my own gels... needed them... No gripes and will be back next year... A bargain and makes me wonder about the costs of some other races... Date of review: February 25, 2013
In short: Thank you for a wonderful race... In full: As mentioned there are hills, only 3, but they add up to 2400ft of climb... That's good as there's 2400ft of down as well... Everything about this race was ace... Marshalls, organisation, support, 12 water/feed stations, fellow competitors... And I got a bit of the 30th birthday cake at the end, thought it would've all been snaffled... Mrs Lemmy wants to do it again, we'll have to see how persuadable I am on New Year Eves!!! Date of review: October 31, 2012
In short: Excellent Half Marathon In full: Great value, good souvenir in time for winter (fluro t-shirt), excellent marshals, tough but fast course and top-notch facilities... Only complaint was water, I'd prefer cups as I just have a few sips, so seemed a waste to throw most of a 500ml bottle of water... Thanks again, see you next year... Date of review: September 28, 2012
