In short: Why would you expect a PB with 12000 runners? In full: Well organised and good value run through the centre of London. If you like yer sights you're in for a treat as you don't miss too many. And I spent half an hour queuing for a wee and nearly missed my starting pen. My fault, should have got there earlier! A really good, friendly 10k but not for the too competitive!! Date of review: May 29, 2013

In short: you go up, up and up....then down, down and down In full: my first half marathon wasn't helped by a stiff calf from mile 4 but glad I persisted becuase the supporters and marshals young and old really made this race one to remember as they had to stand around in the freezing (and I mean freezing) cold for a couple of hours. I was obviously lucky with the Park and Ride as I only waited for 10 minutes but this will need sorting out next year (only one bus at the end...) or nobody will use what is potentially a great service. All in all though a very memorable run and thanks to the easterly wind as I would never have made the last three miles without it! Date of review: March 25, 2013

In short: a flying start....boom boom! In full: a well organised, friendly 10 miler (my first Tempest) with the added bonus of doing a bit of Top Gear spotting for the first 2.5 miles as you ran round the race track (noted the 3 x doughnuts during the first mile and the tyre wall that appears in every programme)to take your mind off things. Then out into the glorious Surrey countryside and undulating roads manned by ever smiling and helpful marshals and plenty of wtaer and gel stations. Not sure I'd fancy the 20 miles though! In short: Not for flat lovers In full: Great setting, a quick rendition of 'God Save the Queen' at the start and a proper challenging trail run makes this one for thr 2014 calendar. The choccy bar and tech t shirt at the finish adds to the value. Look forward to Polesdon Lacy in the summer. Date of review: February 3, 2013

In short: very very muddy run In full: did this for the first time last year and pretty dry and fast but this year....the night after the thaw and everywhere was either mud or semi-swamp but at least the run went ahead and the trail trainers got a good test. Marshals friendly, organisation good and atmosphere excellent. Date of review: January 30, 2013

In short: one ruddy great hill In full: Lovely place to start and finish a race (Loseley House) and everything went to plan, marshals were smiling and encouraging all the way despite the bitter cold. Would recommend. Date of review: December 2, 2012

In short: worth a weekend away In full: decided to bring the whole family and make a weekend of it in Chichester on the Saturday followed by discount shopping at Gun Wharf Quay so no traffic problems for me (but a £12 parking fee). As for the race this was my first GSR - my wife did two before - and I found it really enjoyable, the spectators were great (lots of high-fiving kids) and most runners approached it with the right spirit although I also don't understand why people who want to walk after 2.4k would put themselves in the orange pen and add that pressure! Likewise the more 'serious' runners should ensure they're there early enough to get to teh front of the pens so that they don't cut people up in the first 2k (they should know better). Overall a good weekend! Date of review: October 30, 2012

In short: the hills are alive..... In full: Positives-good organisation at the car park, great race route (v hilly), marshals very encouraging. Negatives- a bit chaotic at the start and finish (needed more than the one water bucket please), runners walking up the hills blocking the paths giving you no choice but to walk.
