In short: New shoes!
In full: Well, got to use my new off-road trainers after having to pull out of my last two off-road events due to injuries. They certainly got broken-in. What a day though. Took me back to my youth running x country at school!. Was warned about the terrain so nothing unexpected there but some of the 'inclines' had to be seen to be believed. Excellent event, lovely day brilliant marshalling and exceptional organisation - well done CH

In short: Anyone fancy my quads today (tues)!!!!!
In full: What a fabulous day. The sun shone on the righteous obviously! Well organised and a big thank you to all the volunteers. Knew of the 'incline' at 5 miles but more undulating than flat I would of thought. But a great day - my running partner thought it was great to as he sat it out with tendonitis!! Unbelievably a PB knocking 11mins off my previous at tewkesbury in May. Well done to everyone concerned

Just been away for two weeks on hols and didn't run a yard. very pleasantly surprised (considering the terrain)at finishing in 1.32. agreed totally about the butties for lunch!!! well done the organisers. lovelly day out!

In short: bit of a hot 'un
In full: really enjoyed the friendly nature of this meet. got a bit hot on the day and nowhere to hide! personally would have preferred perhaps one other water station (on the day) but well done to the organisers. Would like to thank runners world for training programmes you produce - cut down from previous 10k by 6 mins and got a pb of 51:00!! sorry if this doesn't flick the switch of Ian Macmillan from Ash (see letters page) but it cetainly did mine, especially after suffering a heart attack last august

In short: PB Need I say more!
In full: Like another thread read was a bit un-nerved to see the course close so quick. After being really upset at BathHM by finishing in 2.03 when aiming for 2hrs was elated (especially when hitting incline from 8.5 to 10 miles!)to get PB of 1.54.19.
Bettered my time of 11 yrs ago - which was prior to a heart attack too. Excellent day

In short: What was wrong with using the car parks?
In full: Was really looking forward to this after the Bath Half marathon. But after the weather the evening before added the extra challenge of the 'bog of eternal stench' at the 2k (and 7.5k) mark. The "undulating" terrain as mentioned in literature was certainly interesting but still managed sub 57min (the same time for my 10k of the BHM. Did get the feeling that Longleat didn't really welcome us (unlike the cancer research staff) parking us on a muddy hill when all the carparks were virtually empty. Didn't they want our kids to go and investigate pets corner? Nice day overall though and look forward to doing this or different 10k around Longleat

In short: brilliant but hot for me on the day
In full: Really enjoyed myself but a bit disappointed that there was a discrepancy of 2 1/2 min between chip time and stopwatch I was wearing???!!
