In short: Wet, Windy & Worth it
In full: My first 20 miler (First of anything over 14) Well supported out on the course despite the "adverse" weather. Thanks must go to all the marshalls for their considerable time spent out on the course. OK there is a walk back to HQ but this was well advised in advance & with reasons that were out of the organiseres hands. Back next year

In short: Slip Sliding Away
In full: Excellent race. Almost ended up in the canal & did fall down Scooby Doo style on the bob-run. Not for those with a poor sense of balance but you can't say you weren't warned

In short: Tough but entertaining
In full: Hard work but good fun. A bit dicey on the muddy bits but a nice couple of short tarmac sections to break up the tricky parts. Excellent route & well marshalled. Thanks for the rope assisted section. Much appreciated

In short: Good route. Well organised
In full: An excellent route. Bit of everything and very well organised. Glad the mud levels were just about right. See you all next year. Bring on the Oranges....nice touch

In short: In my next life I want to be a mountain goat
In full: Eccellent race. Hard work but nice touches with the swear box & the pan banging lady (Has she been out since New Years Eve) Really struggled with the remains of flu & a belated birthday curry the night before but this wasn't gonna stop me smiling. Very well organised, a small village coped admirably with the parking & excellent facilties. Not done many off roaders but this now means I will have to spend a few quid on some trail shoes

In short: Impressed for my first race
In full: I am new to all this so have no races to compare this type of event to. However well organised & a few locals to cheer you on. Low key but with results & presntation at the bar. Everything I had expected. Inclusive of the weather

In short: Enjoyable Sunday morning
In full: A good mix of tarmac, tracks & a hill. Advertised as a low key race so wasn't expecting a fanfare finish. Does exactly what it says on the tin

In short: Suffered from Running Rage
In full: My first 1/2 Marathon. (My first anything) So nothing to compare it to. Either too many runners or badly organised start. I am led to believe that the route was a reversal of previous years races which caused bottle necking for the first 3 or 4 miles. OK I'm not an olympian and I may slow people up but found it annoying that people didn't stick to their estimated finish time group. Maybe ignorance of competitors or panic to be ready at the beginning caused me to fight my way through back markers running high up the field. Being a local Lad I will give this another go, I only hope that the organisers take on board peoples comments this year as this has the potential to be a great event. Many thanks to the youngsters at the water stations who done a good job in difficult circumstanes

In short: As happy as a Pig etc.....(You know where this is going)
In full: Epic... Everything about this event was superb. Well organized, superb marshalling, Tarmac (Well some) gravel, woods, hills, river crossings, Darth Vader, viscious rumour of there being some muddy sections but this is to be confirmed. Well respected remembrance prior to race. Ranulph Fiennes where were you when there was a real challenge
