In short: Glorious route around the Oxford colleges. Fabulous organisation, great marshalling in foul weather!
In full: Terrible weather didn't stop the great support. Marshalls unfailingly friendly, pre-race massage in drizzle very welcome, people manning the changing tent friendly and welcoming, great support from locals - really made it worth getting soaked. Great race. Took two new runners with me and they are converted!

In short: Challenging weather conditions make for an interesting race!
In full: All credit to the marshalls for being relentlessly cheerful and supportive in foul weather. I found this a tough course, running into the wind and rain, but strip out the weather and it was a good course, with enough undulation to test your resolve. Lovely to run through the Lanes. Well done, Sussex Beacon.

In short: Glorious scenery and supportive marshalling made up for that slow uphill drag (twice!). Lovely race.
In full: Excellent marshalling, full of support and no chance of going the wrong way! The drag uphill was hard work first time round and even more so second time, but the downhill bits were fast and the scenery superb. Muddy parts were a little slippery but most runners remained upright! Great start to the new year although it does make you realise just how much you've over-indulged over Christmas!!

In short: Have done this twice: a hilly hot race but lovely location.
In full: When they say undulating, they're not kidding! Steep hill just after 7km but lovely downhill run towards the park.
