In short: Hot (again) but fairly flat course (one climb at 3m). Lots of water stations. Not sure on the goody gad thought (socks?) Well organised.

In short: Lovely fast course, well marshalled
In full: The small section through the courtyard was vary slippery because of the rain and the two marshalls who were located at the wrong car park to tell runners that it was the wrong carpark forgot the fact that they had to tell the runners - not really sure what they were doing!

Apart from those few niggles, all in all a good race. Nice fast course mostly offroad. Well marshalled.

In short: If you're going to run a marathon - run the FLM
In full: Although I had a few problems with my race number (no zone number printed on it so had to start nearer th back) the organisation in general was excellent. To backup a previous comment - £28 to close central London for the day with thousands of marshalls, st johns ambulance, police etc - great value for money.

The course itself is mostly flat (a few small undulations) but the crowns (especially over the last 4 miles) make it a fast course. You can't help but get a lift with the suppor they give you.

Plenty of drinks stations, excellent t-shirt + medal (more than you get a Robin hood marathon for a similar price) Great goody bag, free transport on the day for runners (take note BUPA Great North RUN).

To top it all off a massive pb. Great day out and will be back next year (or when I next get accepted!)

Thanks to all

In short: Another excellent race, weather cleared up nicely. Well organised
In full: Another well organised event - Thanks you. I even managed to knock over 2 mins off my pb! Fast and flat (or as flat a half as you're going to get)

Only 2 slight negatives were the start on the field - very muddy after the rain - and the bag to finish. Maybe something a bit different next year eg hat, gloves, paperweight, mug - just not a bag or a t-shirt!

Only slight grumbles though. An excellent event and I'll be back again next year. Thanks

In short: Excellent Race, well organised, well marshalled & great t-shirt at the end
In full: Although tought, this is one of the most enjoyable races of the year. Every the the organisation and marshalling seems to get better and this year was no exception. The supurb weather made the race even more enjoyable.

If you like hills then this is your race as I don't think there's a piece of flat over the entire 30k. It may be tough by definately worth a try.

Thanks to everyone and I for one will be back again next year!

In short: Excllent race - lovely route although slightly hillier than advertised
In full: A fast course with lovely scenery around the parks and canal toe paths. Plently of drinks stations although the course was more undulating than flat. the last mile up hill through new walk was tough, as were the cobbles at mile 11 - reminded me of Rome!!!

On the downside - instructions could have been better, as could the parking. The prize money was also faily poor, and a team prize may encourage more clubs to enter.

All in all a good race.

In short: Excellent race, clockwork organisation, magnificant atmosphere.
In full: The weather was perfect, the atmosphere was like nothing else, and the organisation couldn't be faulted.

Although the course was quite hilly - it didn't feel like there was any downhill until you got to South Shields - it was more than made up for. The last mile was amazing with the crowds to pull you through, and I really did have to dig in deep to beat Scooby Doo!!!!!!!! (excellent run by him by the way)

Would recommend by anyone, although if you don't get a good start there's no chance of a PB (too many people)
