In short: Very well organised and a very nice setting.
In full: This race takes place as part of the village fete and as the weather was very good it made for a very nice setting. It was good to wander around the stalls before the start. Good parking, adequate toilets,a good traffic free route with quite a long hill around mile 4 but then a good downhill finish. A very nice paperweight as a momento.A high number of club runners made the times very good and it was great to see the results published so quickly.

In short: Well organised , friendly local race.
In full: Very friendly race both from organisers, marshalls, spectators and other runners. To me the first five miles all seemed gradually uphill but at least the last mile is all downhill. Results were out very quickly but it would be nice to have a bit more information as to ages, sex, running clubs etc. We have to put this detail on the entry form so why not include it on the results.

In short: This race has grown a lot over the years purely because it is an excellent race.
In full: This race has good parking, good toilets, a good start, a good route and a good finish. The field seems to be of a high standard because it is part of a club series but the ordinary runner can still enjoy it and benefit from the competition. The marshalls were very encouraging and the results were published very quickly. My only complaint was that most races give you some sort of goody bag at the end these days and it is disappointing that Salisbury Running Club cant manage one.

In short: First time for me. Good but I feel it could be better
In full: I am amazed that some people thought this race was hilly. They obviously have not done many other races! I agree with those who say it is too crowded. I made the distance 13.26 miles because I spent so much time dodging slow runners especially as the race had been going for 6 minutes by the time I and a lot of other green runners were able to reach the start.
I have to say the runners village was excellent.Well organised and not too muddy.

In short: A good race but somehow it just seems to lack any atmosphere.
In full: It is good to have this race as the first one in the year as it gets you off to a good start.
However it just seems to lack atmosphere. With a big field you would expect it to be more special but it is not. The marshalls are very quiet possibly because they are charity volunteers who are doing it out of the goodness of their hearts and are not too interested in running. At the start you can not hear what is being said and I did not hear anybody say start,it just happened.
This could be a great race but it is just not quite there yet.
Having said all that I would do it again because the course is good and it is a great location.

In short: So well organised. The walk to the start and back helps you meet people.
In full: This race is so well organised. The guns being fired at the start is a nice touch. A tough field because so many club runners take part but that can rub off on the rest of us. Lovely tea and cakes at the end and very friendly helpers and marshalls.

In short: An interesting course in a good location with excellent facilities.
In full: First time I have run this race but I will certainly do it again. The hills are quite tough but at least they are out of the way quite early on so that the final few kilometres seem to fly by. Organisation was very good although some help with parking would have been good. Also there were 4 marshalls on one corner but nobody at one junction where runners could have gone either way.

In short: Great event, well organised and an excellent route.
In full: This event deserves to have a bigger turn out. The route is quite tough but that is made up for by the beautiful scenery and the mixture of surroundings as you are running. Very well organised. Good to be able to hear the instructions at the start and a very nice water bottle as a momento at the end.

In short: Disappointing turn out could be due to change of date or the price.
In full: I always enjoy this race because it goes by my front door. I agree that the marshalls needed to be better at the water station. Several runners were sent the wrong way.The lane beside Hudson Field is far too narrow. Why not route the run through Hudson Field it would be far better. The entry price is steep but I hope this is because part of the entry fee is a donation to the Fire Fighters Fund.Otherwise I am afraid Salisbury is going to find runners going elsewhere especially if they live out of the area.

In short: Very well organised but far too hard for me on a hot day.
In full: I ran the 20k but although I did not get lost it turned out to be nearer 22k. I was very disappointed with my time until I saw the results and it was obvious that most people found it as hard as I did.The only reason I have said I would not do it again is because at my age I found it very very tough.
