In short: Challenging but enjoyable and more scenic than the title might suggest! In full: A tough race with an unkind sting in the tail with the hill at mile 9. But it's a good race and worth doing. Cheerful and friendly marshalling as ever. Date of review: January 17, 2010
In short: Hard work but very friendly. In full: Small field but friendly. Nice to be acknowledged by the front runners as they passed me at the back. Shame about the horrible pong of the sewage being pumped out into the sea though! Date of review: September 6, 2009
In short: A great race - the organisers couldn't do anything about the weather! In full: My third running of this race and once again it was great. Shame about the weather! Special thanks to all the marshalls who were cheerful and encouraging although they must all have been freezing! Date of review: January 25, 2009
In short: Very hard work but worth the effort. In full: Great marshalls and the course was extremely well marked - no chance of getting lost even for back markers like me. Plenty of water stations with jelly babies and sponges. One of the best organised races I've been to. Date of review: June 15, 2008
In short: The weather was just too hot for a very difficult course In full: Very hard hilly course and a 10.30 start meant it was really hot. Well organised, well marshalled and very friendly. Date of review: May 11, 2008
In short: Shame about only 6 portaloos for 500 or so entrants. In full: I realise that the problem with not having access to the on site facilities at HQ wasn't the fault of the organisers but it really let down this race. Glad the race start was delayed for those in the queue for the loos.
Also, for those of us at the back, running alone, it was sometimes difficult to know whether or not we were on the right route. Otherwise though marshalls were enthusiastic and friendly and the jelly babies were much appreciated! Date of review: March 2, 2008
