In short: a scenic lap around pretty countryside In full: a good HQ at the local school, adequate loos etc. A pretty course with just a couple of steady short hills. 2 water stations were at good spots although i certainly cant run and drink from a cup, makes you take a breather. pleasant drink at the pub after. prize givings were too late for us to wait, as had to travel back which was ashame as our club won a couple. 1pm would have been better. apart from little whinge i love this race. In full: didnt mean to submit last review before writing review. Lovely day for the family, kids enjoyed the fete while I ran(husband had cycled from Sheffield to meet there so all happy). Was like a typical fell race with a mile of canal path in the middle. Forgot my garmin so unaware of getting lost, but other of my club members all had 7mile+ on their garmins. apparently an arrow had blown to send us a wrong direction but luckily joining route a mile on. more marshalls would have prevented that.a local in the cafe insisted we all ran short of 10k but 4 garmins cant be wrong....having said that a beautiful course, lovely mix of fields, woods and trail. info sent with number did say 1000ft climb and off-road so we were expecting that.
In short: hilly, hard but pretty In full: tried this to compare to Eyam, found it much harder but this may be due to the unexpected sunshine during the first 8 miles. felt like i was climbing through out the run but great sense of achievement after. Date of review: June 7, 2010
