In full: didnt mean to submit last review before writing review. Lovely day for the family, kids enjoyed the fete while I ran(husband had cycled from Sheffield to meet there so all happy). Was like a typical fell race with a mile of canal path in the middle. Forgot my garmin so unaware of getting lost, but other of my club members all had 7mile+ on their garmins. apparently an arrow had blown to send us a wrong direction but luckily joining route a mile on. more marshalls would have prevented that.a local in the cafe insisted we all ran short of 10k but 4 garmins cant be wrong....having said that a beautiful course, lovely mix of fields, woods and trail. info sent with number did say 1000ft climb and off-road so we were expecting that.
In short: hilly, hard but pretty In full: tried this to compare to Eyam, found it much harder but this may be due to the unexpected sunshine during the first 8 miles. felt like i was climbing through out the run but great sense of achievement after. Date of review: June 7, 2010
In short: hilly, scenic well organised In full: having not run this before, wasnt sure whether to carry drink to take my gels, glad i didnt as loads of water/sponge stations.hills were all long up and down, beautiful and although roads not closed, noticed no traffic. great race
In full: A great mix of trail , woods, water, mud (bottom deep). SOme horrendous climbs uphill clinging on to any branch available, good descents too. Great goody bag and t-shirt. Energy totally spent by the end running up to the finish. PLenty of loos, well organised. Apparently a kids race, but missed it so not sure how that was.
