In short: I found this very difficult In full: I ran much slower than I anticipated, with the grass section at the top of the hill sapping my strength. Due to my struggles I didn't appreciate the race as much as I might which is scenic and well organised also very good value for money. I think PB's will be few and far between here as it is hilly, quite twisty and long(by about 250m or 1min) Date of review: May 31, 2011

In short: A Race Needing a Little Fine Tuning In full: An enjoyable race in a lovely location and the potential for a PB on a good day. Just a couple of points that would improve matters, A start line so that we assemble in the right place (we all lined-up where the clock was oops!), back-markers across the road (marshals just let them know we're coming) and while I don't race for momentos the towel isn't great as it isn't big enough to dry me (am I too fat?) and I avoid gyms to run in the great outdoors.
The location alone means I will be back next year so long as it doesn't clash with the county athletics champs again. Date of review: May 16, 2011

In short: If all races were like this everyone would run In full: This race is not about times or placings, splits negative or otherwise. It is about having fun, chatting, eating cake, smiling and enjoying the most amazing race atmosphere. Well done to all who organise, marshall, officiate, sponsor or run as it produces a race to be proud of. Date of review: April 18, 2011

In short: The Best Race Anywhere In full: This is always the first race in my diary for so many reasons; wonderful camaraderie on the buses to the start, relaxed atmosphere, fantastic marshals, breath-taking views, incredible organisation, the fact it is one of so few point-to-point races, chatting to other runners during the race and the cake at the end.
Thank you Overton Harriers for yet another wonderful edition of this amazing race.

In short: If you want to set a PB Eastleigh is the place to do it In full: This race has everything a good race should, excellent organisation, excellent momento (T-Shirt) which I collected after the race and got a small v unusual, the course is pure speed with the hill early enough so your still fresh then it gives it back for the rest of the course, generally good weather, good spectator options, watch the runners at the start mid race and the finish, the local borough health fair in the same hall, easily accessable and plentiful parking (and I was late!), plenty of toilets I didn't queue! excellent marshals, chip timing and most of all wonderfull cake at the finish. I don't know how anyone could not work out where the finish is as it is the longest run in on the planet (500m+) to the extent that I start my sprint finish a little early and nearly collapse.
Well done to all the organisers Date of review: March 29, 2011

In short: An enoyable pace but your speed depends on the wind In full: Everything worked well, the new course is an improvement on what was a good course before and the medal was a big step forward. Only issue is the traffic in the first mile or two but that was soon forgotten when battling the hills. Oh and the offer on Ferry tickets would have been nice earlier (I note that this is not due to Ryde Harriers). Thank you to all envolved in organising this race as I had an enjoyable day. In short: A Tremendous Fast Half In full: I love the race, like the scenery, put up with the HQ, which is about at the limit for the number of runners...But there are three things that stand out 1. the course this a course derived for speed 2. the marshals who were fantastic as ever 3. (and most of all) I will gladly run 13.1miles for a lump of cake that good and that big!!! Date of review: November 22, 2010

In short: A Friendly and Fast 5km In full: Really enjoyable fast 5km, a good chance to get a PB on the wide open tarmac of the race curcuit. The organisation is good and everything worked well, a shame that there is no momento to remember such a good race/series. As this race grows and I'm sure it will I'm sure it will only get better.
