In short: Probably the best marathon in the world!
In full: This is definately my favourite race so far. Excellent and supportive marshalls. Great fueling stations. Runners were friendly and encouraging. Scenery fantastic. Very hard and challenging terrain. An incredible buzz to finish. Not to be missed! Thank you Eastbourne!

In short: Excellent organisation for the 10k and children's dash but poor for fun run
In full: Friendly atmosphere and well marshalled 10k; THANK YOU! The down side was the fun run which was very disappointing. My sister-in-law is very new to running and this was to be her first organised run. However, she was given no guidance on where to start the run aside from the printed race information from which she deduced that she should follow the back of the field of the 10k, realising after a mile that she should not be running this route at all! A sweeping vehicle finally picked her up and took her back the race HQ. She was very despondent. Come on Beckley - if you advertise a fun run aswell, make sure it is 'fun' and as well organised as the other events!

In short: very uncomfortable and congested start but definately worth the trip.
In full: The starting area was just not big enough to comfortably contain 5000 runners. The changing marquee took 10 minutes to queue for and was generally uncomfortably crowded to change in with ease. The queuing procedure at the row of portaloos was not clear; we were queuing for 20 minutes before we realised that there were actually just short queues for each loo - suitable signs or directions would have stopped this confusion. These issues led us to miss a warm up and could have been avoided. I am sorry to moan because aside from this: the marshalls were brilliant; the crowds were incredibly supportive; and after a few miles I forgot about the hectic start and really enjoyed (if that's the word for PAIN) the rest of the race. Well done Hastings but please sort the start out!

In short: Fairly flat but pavement running is not my thing!
In full: Marshalling and organisation were very good. Thanks to all the marshalls for giving up their Sunday and for their encouraging and friendly comments. Good atmosphere. However, running nearly all the way on the pavement was unforgiving on the joints - it was a slog - and not so good for pedestrians either!! Although it was fast and had personal best potential.
